Kamalgad is a fort in Wai, district Satara. This fort situated in the heart of Dhom dam such as Walki river on the north side of the fort and Krishna river in the south of the fort. We reach up from the base in approx. 3 hours & on the way we can see a Gorakshnath temple. After walking through a dense jungle, we reach near Dhangarwada. From here, on the way uphill, there is a way of ladder fixed on boulders.
After came upstairs and we can see well of red-stone (Geru) The well is an about 40-50 ft. Here are few constructed steps coming down to the base of the well; as touching each step its felt to change in the atmosphere. There is a red clay soil (Geru-Red Ochre) on either side of the stairs. According to locals, this soil has some unique medicinal properties.

08:00 – Descend to base village.
12:00 – Lunch at Wai.
14:00 – Travel to Pune.
16:00 – Reach Pune with Happy Memories & Non-Biodegradable waste. 🙂
