Rajmachi Fort is one of the many historical forts & most exciting trekking place in the rugged hills of Sahyadri mountains. It has two stronghold forts, Shrivardhan and Manranjan; with a wide plateau (Machi) surrounding the two Balekillas. Udhewadi is a small village of about 22 houses situated on the Machi, at the southern foot of Manaranjan Balekilla of Rajmachi Fort. It is a famous spot for trekking.
The best season to visit Rajmachi is the monsoon and the winter season. Nature is at its best during this time and one can see amazing waterfalls and lush green forests en route.
In monsoon, you can view the beautiful Kataldhar Waterfall from Shrivardhan Fort.
The fort played a strategic role in the First Anglo-Maratha War. Rajmachi Fort has been declared as a protected monument.
